Back In Focus
I've been feeling frustrated the past couple days. The everyday “Mama” and “Wife” stuff was getting to me. I look around our house and it’s a mess. It feels like I have no help. (Why isn’t Lorelei helping me with laundry yet?!) ;) It’s an endless cycle of cleaning, picking up, fixing, cleaning again, picking up…
Thankfully, I gained a little perspective this morning while reading my Bible. I’m to submit to my husband (Col 3:18); be gentle, patient, loving and kind (Col 3:12); do my work as to the Lord and not to men (Col 3:23); keep pressing on toward the goal (Phil 3:14) and find enjoyment in the everyday ”meaningless” tasks (Eccl 2:24-26).
I know that the daily tasks are not meaningless. They are very important. I’m taking care of my family! They are VIP’s in my book! It is a sacred and fulfilling job – being a mother and wife. I do believe that with all of my heart. The truth is I love my job.
We all have days when we feel the monotony is more than we can stand. (right?) But let’s have hope! There is a bigger purpose and higher calling here! And I’m so thankful that I do not have to do this alone. The Lord is with me!
Thank you, Lord, for putting things back in focus!
