An Homage To The GillyBean

What a crazy couple of weeks it's been! I have been so pregnant crabby and emotional! Sheesh!

I feel like I've been a bit hard on my little girl, too. Not to say that she hasn't been a little crabby-buns herself... ;) I'm not sure what the issue is.. maybe she senses the new baby, I know she's getting some molars in, she's not been feeling well, it was Tuesday...

She's been very clingy, though. And under normal circumstances that would be fine. Except I'm starting to feel this sense of urgency to get things ready for the new baby. Whatever that means. Translation: clean the baseboards of my kitchen cupboards with a toothbrush. So, while she wants to be held ALL of the time, I'm thinking, "I should be 'fill in the blank'..!!"

Of course I know there's a happy medium. There are times when what I should be doing is holding her, playing with her, and just chillin like villans watching Boz the Bear for the 12,123rd time. Not that I'm complaining.

I do do (do do??) these things, but lately it just seems like whenever I (or her Daddy) leave the room, it's like we're gouging her eyes out with a spoon! Was that TMI?? Sorry. I think you understand.

All of that said, I feel like a bad mama some days, and, well, here's my homage to Gilly.

Because the truth is, no matter how crazy she gets, I wouldn't change a single thing about her. I'm pretty sure that if she wasn't so gosh darn fiesty she wouldn't be so gosh darn spunky and cute!! :)

It's all or nothing. You take the good with the craziness. :) Pretty sure she and hubby do that with me. Thank the Lord.

Here's another beautiful day in the sunshine!!

Cute little red toenails!!

What a sweet smile! And here comes that signature move again (which I've yet to post about!)
3, 2, 1....

...and stick the finger in the camera and giggle!!!
(right on cue!)

Now, it's serious time. No laughing, please. Thank you.

She was saying "Sweepy? Sweepy?" (sleepy?)

This water was ICE COLD - but she didn't care! :)

So sweet!! I love you so much GillyGirl! :)

Top Ten Items We Never Pay Full Price For

Last week, I posted the Top Ten Things We Splurge On.

I thought it would be apropos (I've always wanted to use that word) to post the... *drum roll, please*

Top Ten Items We Never/Rarely Pay Full Price For:

1. Cars. We bought a new/used car a few years back that came with a mah-velous monthly payment, dahling. Never. Again.
2. Most of our grocery items. Last week, I mentioned a few foods that we do pay extra for, but that's about it. We are usually not brand loyal when it comes to groceries. We eat what is cheap mixed with what tastes good and is healthy. :)
3. Clothes. We NEVER pay full price for clothes. Ever. With all of the second hand stores, clearance racks and sales, there's absolutely no reason to pay full price. I don't think we sacrifice looking nice for it, either. :)
4. Furniture. Well, mostly. We usually look on Freecycle, craigslist, or at second hand stores before shopping at furniture stores. If we can't find what we like at a big discount, then we'll pay (hopefully) a sale price.
5. DVD's, CD's & Video Games. We just recently joined a wonderful website, swaptree.com!! It's free to join. You trade music, books, dvd's and vids and you only pay shipping. I've not had to pay over $2 and we've traded almost 20 items so far! LOVE IT! If we can't do it this way, we always shop at discount media stores.
6. Books. I mostly get books from our library but if I really want to buy one, I use http://www.amazon.com/.
7. Going to the theater. I love going to the theater but unfortunately with toddler at home and limited child care options, we don't go as much as I'd like. When we do go, however, we use our "Five Buck Club" card. It's so easy and so wonderful and FREE! Just go to their website, sign up for the card FOR FREE and you can use it to see almost any movie for $5 at your local theater! (assuming that there are one of their theaters in your area.) Also, we go the matinees so if the movie isn't a FBC one we still see it at a cheaper rate than at night! (usually about $3 less!)

Ok, so my mind is totally drawing a blank. I can't think of THREE more things!! Help! What do YOU never pay full price for??

Spring Is Here!

Ahh. This feels good. I love this time of year. I'm so over winter. Have been since about November-ish.

Here are some pics of us enjoying the sunshine!

Mixed with a few cute things our little monkey says. ;) Most of her words are easily understood, but here are a few that you may need a translation for: :)

~Pish or Piaa-ush (she stretches out the middle vowels when she's being silly!) : Fish (we just bought her a Beta and she loves it!)

Here's her Fish Face:

~Wanee : Water

~Rauff : Giraffe aka "Stinky"

~Keekee : Chicken

~Peet : Feet (doesn't quite have the "F" sound down yet :)

~Bana : Banana

And here is a Classic Gilly Move. :) I'll do a post about that later.
