I Never Said I Was a Photographer....

I have always said that the Lord has blessed me with great friends. It's true. I really have the best friends a girl could ask for.

Recently, one of my friends gave me a camera. Gave it to me. Can you believe that?! It's a pretty, nice stinkin' camera, too! I'm still in shock myself! It's ok if you need a few minutes to process this information. I can wait...

Anyhoo, the other day we were all playing outside (pics to be posted later) when I looked up at the electric pole near our house (as I sometimes do) and lo and behold! - there sat a HUGE woodpecker!!

Methinks to myself, "This will give me a chance to use my nice, new camera AND show off my mad photography skillz!! Sweet!" 

So, I coolly lifted my camera up, made sure my hubby was watching, and *click!* - took the picture.

Oh. I guess I just need to zoom in. No problem. I can handle this. *click!*

Oh. I think I need to hold my arms down at my sides to steady the camera.. yeah, that's it...

Umm... *cough, cough* Hubby is watching, Catie! Be cool, just be cool.

Well, that's a little better.

Meanwhile, while Aaron was so *lovingly* snickering behind me, I did what I usually do and took the mature, high road, handed him the camera and said, "Here! If you think you can do better!"

*click!*

Whatever.

He totally cheated. I'm not sure how exactly. But I'm gonna find out.

In the meantime, anyone want to lend me Photography For Dummies??
