Top Ten Kitchen Items I Can't Live Without

We all know (if you didn't - you do now) that I'm not the world's greatest cook. That award goes to my dear hubby. :) I'm comfortable with this. I don't particularly love cooking. At all.

I have been spending a lot more time in the kitchen since becoming a SAHM. It's ok. I'm comfortable with that also. It's not that my DH won't cook, I guess I just feel like I should since he's at work all day. (Technically so am I - but moving on....) ;)

I will say the one thing I've discovered I enjoy is the satisfaction of knowing that I'm providing a (usually) healthy meal for my family.

So from a NON cook's perspective, here are my Top Ten Kitchen Items I Can't Live Without: (In order of importance)

1. Coffee Maker & Coffee Bean Grinder. Where, oh, where would I be without you, Automatic-Start-In-The-Morning-Timer-Coffee-Maker?? And this grinder is the greatest thing ever! There are a ton of settings for how fine or coarse you want your coffee ground!! Perfect coffee - every time! Perfect for us coffee connoisseurs!! Ok. Not really. But we like to think we are.
2. Crock Pot. My new best friend. Seriously. I don't know about you other "can't cook to save my life" girls, but this really is a life saver!
3. Cheese slicer. I love, love, love this thing. I think my hubby's granny gave it to us and I'm SO glad! I use it all the time!! I love that each slice of cheese is uniform and perfect after every slice! (OCD, much?) Thanks, granny!
4. A good knife. If the fact that this isn't #1 on my list doesn't give away that I'm not a good cook, then I don't know what will! HA! My hubby is shaking his head in shame right now. It's ok. I know he loves me and we'll work through it.
5. Apple Slicer/Corer. I have a 1 1/2 yr old. 'Nuff said.

6. Can Opener That Doesn't Leave A Sharp Edge. Love it. We can now use cans and their lids for crafts!

7. Stick Blender. This came in handy when I was making Gilly's baby food and it's also great for other stuff..... ask my hubby... he would know.

8. Toaster Oven. Right now we actually use this every single day. Which is going to change because I'm going to get our regular toaster out and use that for bread. This thing uses a lot of energy just to toast bread. It makes a darn good pizza though! And garlic bread! Wouldn't trade it for anything!

9. Measure All Cup from Pampered Chef. I don't use this too often, but I'm so glad I have it when I need it! It's great for things like honey, butter and shortening.

10. Cast Iron Pan. (sorry, no pic)  I love cooking with cast iron! I never worry about scratching them and maybe this is just in my head, but I think the food tastes better when cooked on cast iron. Added bonus: keeps your upper arms in great shape!

Oooh, I want one of those stick mixers. My dad has one and it is the best. I want to use it to puree tomatoes in the can!

Great list---I'm more your pace when it comes to cooking! :)

I use out apple slicer/corer almost everyday and my kids are 8-5yrs old. Can't live without it. And I wish I'd not given our toaster oven away. Wah!

Great list!

I love my Keurig Coffee maker. I love that I can have a hot, fresh cup in 30 seconds! I can't live without coffee!
I also use an apple slicer/corer too. It think it must be a staple in houses with young children!

I should use my crockpot more...

Great list!
